After School Club

Welcome to Anne's Ark!

We provide before and after school care for children who attend St. Anne's Primary.

Breakfast club starts at 7.45am until the start of the school day. A choice of healthy breakfast items are provided for your child when they attend.

After School Club starts at the end of the school day and runs until 6pm. The children are provided with a light healthy snack and drink during the evening which is not intended to replace the evening meal but to keep them going until they get home.  There is a varied menu for snacks, including sandwiches, crumpets and toast, hot dogs and wraps, which is rotated every week so all the children have access to different snack items regardless of which days they attend. Hot Dogs seem to be a favourite! We have a nurturing approach and  encourage the children to eat together at large tables and be independent in serving themselves , buttering toast, setting the tables  and helping each other where needed whilst being supervised by members of staff.  Some are even keen to help with the washing up afterwards! We reward good manners and those that are kind and helpful with weekly award certificates given out in Fridays morning celebration assemblies.

If you wish your child to attend please contact the After School Club manager, Louise Clift, on the school office number  or email l.clift@st-annes.lancs.sch.uk to enquire.

Just some of the activities we do at After School Club include painting , dancing , playing board games and doing puzzles. The children love colouring and drawing and crafting.

We made our own Rememberence display at Anne's Ark last week, the children enjoyed exploring different mediums to make their poppy.

Chinese New Year- We celebrated with some Chinese crafts making dancing dragons and chinese lanterns and the children enjoyed finding out what their animal was for the year they were born.

Crochet Club

In the New Year we got involved with a local Knit and Natter group and some lovely ladies volunteered to come in and teach the children knitting and crochet. It has been very popular and each week the children are learning new skills and getting creative.

So today was European Languages day and as part of this we focussed on Spain today in school, so we thought we would carry on the fun at After School Club with some salsa dance lessons with Mrs Clift. The children really enjoyed it and there were some great moves. Here's a little clip from our lesson!

Chinese New Year- 2024 The Year of The Dragon!

Autumn Term Crafting

Its Pumpkin season so we have been using the knitting machine to make some stuffed Pumpkin toys. The children chose their yarns and with a little supervision cranked the handle, stuffed  and sewed. Then they foraged for little sticks in the garden to make the stalks. They're very proud of their makes!
