Nursery and Reception Outdoor day
Today we welcomed some of our special grown-ups to join in our school outdoor day. We had fun sharing some of our favourite activities and discovered some hidden talents from gardening mums to den-building grandads!
A great time was had by all!

We have started our new topic of 'Treasures' and today we have had lots of pirate fun:
walking the plank, rowing the ship, planning pirate parties, writing pirate words, cooking in the ship's mess, hunting for islands and treasure and launching cannonballs..! We have so much fun learning!

Judaism
We have been learning about the Jewish Festival of Lights called Hanukkah. We have made a Menorah lamp. During the eight days of Hanukkah a new candle is lit each day from the central feeder candle.
Welcome
Today the reception class held a welcome party for our nursery children. Thank you Reception, we loved it!
Busy Builders
Music Week
This week in school we are enjoying exploring music in many different ways. We have been listening to different music being played, making music with instruments and making our own shakers to play.
We were even visited by a Jazz band from Runshaw College! They played for us and we learned about the different instruments they play - a trumpet, a trombone, a banjo, a keyboard, a cajon (a special drum box) and a tuba which plays very low notes.
This week we also hosted our first Welcome Wednesday of the
year and were delighted to have so many visitors!
