Visit to Tesco Leyland
Class 3 were the last class to visit Tesco's in Leyland on the final day of the Spring Term. When we arrived, we were met by Jade who showed us around the store. We shivered in the freezer and then warmed up in the bakery. Some of us were very adventurous, tasting different cheeses and breads.
Jade also set us a task to make a pizza. First we had to shape the dough by spinning it around our fingers. Then she spread some tomato sauce over the top of the dough. After that, we could choose which toppings we wanted on our pizza. In order to get the pizzas to the oven , we put them on a baking tray and then became ' pizza tray ' carriers walking through the store. We were certainly getting some strange looks from the customers.
Our final task was to find different fruit and vegetables that came from countries other than the UK. We found different melons, papaya, aubergines, pomegranates and figs which most of us had never seen before. Just look at all of these items in the shopping basket.
Finally it was time to collect our goodie bags, put our yummy pizzas in and thank Jade for an exciting morning.
