Here come the robots!
Over the last few weeks we have been visited by Sidney. We have been having fun playing games with him. These have made us listen carefully as he can only talk using sounds.
"I spy with my robot eye
something that sounds like c-a-t??"
This play with phonics will help us listen to sounds in words ready for reading and writing.
We are getting so good at these games and love Sidney's challenges. We decided we wanted to find out more about robots and robot pets.
Our favourite robot story is....
I wonder why??
We have made glitter playdough (we think robots are made of metal so our dough needed to be shiny) and used it with nuts, bolts, wires and washers to design our own robots. We have worked with junk modelling materials, foil and metallic crayons and built robots with large and small construction resources.
What a week!
We had lots of fun with our parents during our July Welcome Wednesday. Thank you for all who came to play with us.
Our VERY hungry caterpillars have grown and grown, built cocoons and emerged ready to take flight.
The reception class joined us for the grand release.
Our Golden Celebration
Thank you to everyone who supported us at our special show. We are so very proud of our school and your children!
Our new outdoor area
It has been a long week watching the workmen prepare our new grass area. We will now be able to use this area all year round. Today the fencing came down and the fun started....
Goodbye to our tadpoles
Today Mrs Websdell took our remaining tadpoles and froglets to the canal for release. We have all found out so much from this experience from feeding them and giving them fresh water to watching them grow.
We can all tell you what has happened as they changed.
Guess which 'mini-beast pets' we have chosen to care for next....
Nursery and Reception Outdoor Day
Today we welcomed some of our special grown-ups for our school outdoor day. We had fun sharing some of our favourite activities, discovering some hidden talents along the way from gardening mums to den-building grandads!
A great time was had by all!
Sports Day in Nursery
We had an amazing morning showing off all our incredible skills to our families. We had such a fun time, Mrs. Websdell was very proud of us all.
Now it's time for a well earned holiday!
The Royal Wedding
We had fun finding out about this special day and who will be there. We made a special card to send to Meghan and Prince Harry at Kensington Palace.
We decorated our own wedding cakes for a street party. Yum, yum!
We had an amazing time on the bouncy castle.
Thank you to all our grown-ups for the money we raised!
One of our special nursery friends is German. Today she asked to sing us her favourite song. WOW!
With help from mummy we found the song and had fun learning it together. Singing German is fun!
We don't get snow very often in Leyland but when we do we know how to have fun!
Our first week back
Whilst the rest of school took part in Maths week we thought we'd like to join in too. Look at all of our lovely shape work. We are very proud of it!
Christmas Party Day
Games, dancing, party food and a visit from a very special guest.
Gosh, what a fun day we have had!
Today was little bears birthday. We worked together to plan a party for him. The children in nursery baked a cake and we all helped him to share. Yum, yum, what a lovely surprise he had!
Today the reception class held a welcome party for our nursery children. Thank you Reception, we loved it!
Our first Welcome Wednesday of the year
Thank you to all the parents who attended. Didn't we have fun!
We enjoy using our ears to listen for new sounds. They worked hard today on a walk around our lovely school!
